In Hosea 4–6, God confronts Israel for having the appearance of religion without a genuine relationship with Him. Although the people had priests, worship, sacrifices, and religious traditions, their lives revealed a lack of faithfulness, love, and true knowledge of God. Pastor Jeff explains that knowing facts about God is not the same as personally knowing and following Him.

This message challenges us to examine whether our everyday lives reflect the God we say we know. A genuine relationship with God should shape our choices, relationships, priorities, and response to sin. Spiritual leaders and believers alike carry a responsibility to faithfully live out and share God’s Word, recognizing that our choices can also impact the next generation.

Hosea also reminds us that spiritual problems cannot ultimately be solved through political leaders, systems, or worldly sources of security. Our hope and trust must remain in God alone. Most importantly, God desires more than outward religious activity—He desires our hearts. As Hosea 6 teaches, God desires mercy and the acknowledgment of Him rather than empty sacrifice. True faith is not simply attending church or knowing Scripture; it is a devoted relationship with God that transforms how we live every day.
